Direct revenue attribution
Every visit is linked to your payment processor, so each channel — Google, GitHub, X, newsletters, direct — shows real revenue per visitor.
AI bot filtering
GPTBot, ClaudeBot, Perplexity, scrapers and crawlers are detected automatically and kept out of your numbers.
Social & link attribution
Purpose-built attribution for links shared on X and across social — know which post drove the sale, not just the click.
Cookie or cookieless
A first-party cookie for months-long accuracy, or a cookieless script that rotates identifiers daily — no consent banner.
How it works
Live in five minutes
One script, one metadata field, one webhook. No data engineering.
- 01
Install the script
Add one ~4KB script to your site header — raw HTML, Tag Manager, WordPress, or NPM. Under five minutes.
<script defer data-website-id="YOUR_SITE_ID" src="https://numberhill.com/js/numberhill.js"></script> - 02
Pass the visitor ID at checkout
When a user starts checkout, drop their numberhill_visitor_id into your payment processor's metadata.
await stripe.checkout.sessions.create({ metadata: { numberhill_visitor_id: window.numberhill.visitorId() }, }) - 03
Connect the webhook
Point your processor's payment.succeeded webhook at NumberHill. We match the transaction to the visit and credit the right channel — in real time.
POST /api/webhooks/stripe → matched visitor 9f2c… → credited: GitHub
Privacy

Two scripts, same API. Swap one file name to switch.
numberhill.js — cookies
A small first-party cookie recognizes returning visitors for weeks or months — maximum accuracy for long-term revenue attribution.
- Months-long attribution windows
- Highest matching accuracy
- Best for considered purchases
numberhill-cookieless.js
Identifiers rotate every 24 hours and nothing is stored on the device — run analytics without a cookie consent banner.
- No consent banner needed
- Nothing stored on the device
- IDs rotate at UTC midnight
The difference
Same traffic. Two different stories.
One month of channels, ranked two ways. The order almost completely inverts — and only one of these tells you where to spend next.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
How is this different from Google Analytics or Plausible?
Traffic analytics stops at sessions and conversions. NumberHill joins your traffic data with your payment processor, so every channel, page, and campaign gets an actual dollar value — revenue per visitor, not bounce rate. You stop optimizing for clicks and start optimizing for customers.
Do I need a cookie consent banner?
Not with the cookieless script — it stores nothing on the device and identifiers rotate every 24 hours. If you want months-long attribution windows, use the default script, which sets one first-party cookie. You choose per site. (Confirm specifics with your own counsel.)
How hard is the setup, really?
Three steps: paste one script tag, add one metadata field to your checkout call, and point your processor's webhook at NumberHill. Most people are live in under five minutes — no data warehouse, no SDK, no schema to design.
Which payment providers are supported?
Stripe, LemonSqueezy, Polar, Shopify, and Dodo Payments are native — including refunds and duplicate-webhook protection. Migrating from a similar tool? We also accept the datafast_visitor_id metadata key, so switching is a one-line rename.
Will AI crawlers inflate my numbers?
No. GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, scrapers, headless browsers, and generic crawlers are detected at the ingest layer and excluded from every visitor and conversion metric. You get a separate report showing exactly what was filtered.
